A whisk is a cooking tool consisting of a handle and a set of thin forged iron wires in the shape of an elongated pear. It is used to beat food (eggs for exampe), the "whipping" movement must be uniform and constant and have a circular pattern; during this operation the air produced through whisking penetrates the food and makes it swell.
