Turrón is a dessert prepared with a mixture of honey, whipped egg white, almonds, or hazelnuts. Famous are the turrón of Cremona, of Siena, that of Abruzzo and Calabria.
Turrón is a typical Christmas dessert, but it can also be used in pastries to prepare small desserts, pralines, and ice cream. Sometimes it is also available completely coated in chocolate.
