Paprika is a hot spice that appears like a dark red powder. It is prepared with particular varieties of dried and pulverized Hungarian peppers (called in fact paprika). Depending on whether the peppers contain seeds and ribs, paprika is more or less spicy.
It should not be cooked for a long time otherwise it becomes bitter and it is also best to avoid "frying" it. This spice is particularly suitable for stewed meat dishes such as the Hungarian goulash.
