Ladyfinger, or Sponge finger in British English, is a long biscuit characterized by a delicate taste and prepared with flour, sugar, egg yolks and whipped egg whites. The dough is spread on the oven plate through the use of syringe equipped with a long, wide and smooth nozzle. It is the classic biscuit, which, soaked in liqueur or wine, is used in the preparation of spoon desserts such as trifle or charlotte.
