Hake is a sea fish that belongs to the Gadidae family, often confused with cod. It has a slender and tapered body and an elongated muzzle; it is gray on the back and light on the belly. It can exceed a meter in length, but the most common specimens are between 30 and 80 cm. It can be found on the market all year round.
It is a fish with a delicate flesh and a pleasant taste; whole, it can be cooked roasted, fried and stewed; filleted, it is excellent in a pan, breaded and enriched with sauces.
