The flying squid is a cephalopod mollusk with 10 tentacles and a sac-like body, which ends with 2 fins arranged in an arrowhead. The skin is pink in color that fades into yellowish; the length can reach one meter.
The meat of the flying squid is more leathery and less valuable than that of the squid and cuttlefish and is cooked in the Italian "umido" way, even stuffed.
