Cherry brandy is a fruit-based liqueur, which contains 30% alcohol. It is produced with sour cherry juice, kirsch (cherry brandy), sugar and glucose; to optimise its taste, a small amount of bitter almond oil is usually added. There is also a lighter variety of cherry brandy, made from Kent County cherries. However, this type of cherry brandy is not a liqueur but rather a distillate.
