Brown meagre, or corb, is a sea fish belonging to the Scienidae family, very common in the eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean and Black Sea. It has a strongly compressed body, a short muzzle, large eyes and scales and a brown skin color with golden or metallic reflections. It can reach 50 cm in length and has a delicate flesh, quite similar to that of the croaker. It is excellent boiled, braised, cooked in a pan and fried.
